As part of the blog's ongoing interest in Tai Hing/ T in a Circle toys here's some more info.
Tai Hing released an Amphibious Car toy.
This was clearly based on the Amphibio car made by the established West German firm as seen in this FAO Schwarz US toy catalogue from 1970, bottom left.
Schuco are still going and even now stock a type of amphibious model!
Here's the same close up. A lovely fully-working amphibious plastic car.
Click the labels for more info.
Schuco is an obscure brand which brings back two very obscure memories. 1/ I think I had a toy automobile by them, but can't recall if it was a wind-up tin toy, or a die-cast vehicle. 2/ I did for a short time, have the Schuco Disneyland Monorail set, which was my pride and joy during my 8th year of existence.
ReplyDeleteNice one Zigg. Wonder which car you had? Schuco were part of Thunderbirds too! http://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/2009/09/city-of-fire-car.html
