He was a troll made by Finnish Atelier Fauni. Known as Sumppi in Finland, he was a popular figure in the UK as well in the 60's. He made television appearances and even had his own UK Fan Club.
There's a bit more on Trolls coming up in the next few weeks. I like the word Fauni Arto. Reminds me of Fauna, the scientific word for all non-plant life. They must be connected. Tivvy was one of those characters around in the Sixties who were just there like Rupert, Noddy and Tufty, who might have had a club as well. The Tufty Club?

ReplyDeleteNot as scary as those wild haired wooden vikings who opened bottles. They usually came in pairs stood on a little bat stand! Don't mess with them!
