Eagle-eyed reader Tony K has spotted this neat card diorama of Quatermass and the Pit and the Knightsbridge Apemen.
Its available on Etsy.
Its being advertised standing on a rather lovely pile of DVD's! Now that's some TV right there!
What do you think?
Really nice. A cardboard cut-out toy theatre. To quibble, the signs on the wall at top left say HOBBS LANE (top sign) but HOB'S LANE (lower sign).
ReplyDeleteThats a reference to a conversation in the movie regarding the older name Hob meaning the Devil. The street name was changed.
DeleteThank you, I did not realise that. Must watch the film.
ReplyDeleteI should have mentioned there's also Nigel Kneale's 'The Stone Tape' card theatre diorama available, Woodsy. I've no recollection of that series from 1972, but then again I was only nine and may have been distracted by Doctor Who and Star Trek :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I'll have to look Tone. the Stone Tape was a one-off TV play about radio electronics, a spooky house and the suggested ability of stone walls to record ghosts. It often features on lists of the most frightening British TV programmes ever. A true 70's classic and well worth a watch Tone.
DeleteThanks for that, Woodsy. Sounds interesting, I'll look out for it :)
