Its summer. Its relaxed. The air is sweet. The nights are light.
What better time to listen to Mott the Hoople's great rock riff fest Thunderbuck Ram made famous by its inclusion on the seminal Bumpers compilation double-LP 1970.
Every Sunday, I bring out an old transistor radio which we had when I was a child. It's a Fidelity Floret, with Germanium Transistors. The radio has been respectfully modified to play mp3 tracks.
So I'm slowly working my way through recordings of old broadcasts from the 1960's and into the early 1970's
Currently listening to an Alan Freeman with Pick of the Pops from late 1969. And of course it sounds EXACTLY as I remember it did back in the day.
A little bit of time traveling on a Sunday morning, you can't beat it!

Fantastic idea Bill. It helps being a whizz at radiophonics I bet too! What's a Germanium Transistor?
