The drawing of Captain America is a survivor from my childhood and the early influence of Stan Lee, Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. I think you're right about our collective DNA. Thanks Arto :)
Thanks for posting this tribute to Stan Lee, Woodsy. Very much appreciated! Yep, you're right - the figures are the sixties Capatin Action version and the seventies Mego Cap. Well spotted Captain Eagle-Eyes :D
Stan Lee had no part in creating Captain America though, Woodsy. That was done by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby (or Joe on his own if you believe his version.) True, Stan did write a text story about Cap in the '40s, and scripted his adventures in the '60s, but he wasn't really a co-creator of the character.
Undoubtedly a fine tribute to Stan Lee, regardless of the politics of who did what. If not for Stan Lee, we would not have Marvel. If not for Marvel, we would not have Captain America. Relish those old toys you have.
Very touching tribute, Tony. We were all born into the legacy Mr. Lee created, that is part of our collective dna and will live on many a lifetime.

DeleteI agree with Arto. Lovely epitaph to the great man Tone. What a life! Are they the Mego and captain Action versions of ol' Cap?
