I wonder how many ideas the late great Gerry Anderson had that could have progressed to the next step like TV?
I have a DVD called the Lost Worlds of Gerry Anderson, which I've yet to watch. I imagine The Investigator's on there, which itself sparked a few ace toys including a fabulous knockoff Coast Guard vehicle me and Scoop have featured on MC. Have you got one too?
I bet its not on the DVD but I think that Project SWORD might have been a decent premise for a series given the chance but then again I am biased as I loved the toys so much as a nipper. Still do!
I understand Gerry thought the overall story arc a bit too gloomy for developing further. Do you agree that it was a tad depressing for Sixties kids readers, the end of the world?
Starcruiser is another concept that made the toy factory but not the Television studio. Nit sure why but it certainly generated several toys and models including an amazing boxed Mission Kit by Thomas Salter, which is a bit if a blog legend really [if you have one please send pics of how it works!]
Which other of Gerry's ideas turned into toys but got no further than that? Can you think of any?
What would you like to have seen on the telly or the big screen?
