Oh dear, the sound quality at my end was awful this month, for which I can only apologise. Not sure why. I'll try to get a clearer connection in April.
Interesting chat nevertheless, thanks guys. One or two points about the Sword clip discussed -
The date of the clip can be put exactly at May 28, 1968, as the explanatory text specifies "today" as Tuesday (which that date was).
"There were no children at today's opening..." would indicate that the show was indeed open to the public as well.
"... but also a Moon Prospector with a rotating scanner and searchlight..." would indicate that the Prospector was fully operational too.
As Bill suggested, the quality of the purchased clip could well be more accurate, which in turn might make the dymo stickers readable. I would guess them being reference numbers for ordering specific toys.
The "2001" connection is interestingly repeated here, as in the SWORD Annual (but which came first).
The Angel Interceptor can be seen at 0'17" in the upper right hand corner, hanging on a string behind the girl dressed in pink. Looking at it again, I believe there is also another toy (a SPV?) hanging in front of it.
For what purpose this clip was filmed, the question remains. Glad that they did!

ReplyDeleteIt sounded like Norman Collier was doing the broadcast!
ReplyDeleteSorry about that Kev. It was disappointing. We'll try to get it right next month.
