Of all the Terrahawk vehicles, the only one to stand out in my opinion was The Battlehawk. The design struck me as reminiscent of science fiction paperback book covers I'd seen in Harry Harrison's Mechanismo.
The Bandai toy is full of little features.
A hatch and ramp at the nose.
A rear cargo hold which lowers to form another ramp.
Battletank compartment with recovery hooks.
The Battletank showing it's crew of two Megazoids
A detachable spring loaded Terrahawk on top.
The Terrahawk showing adjustable leg.
Finally the box, front and rear. Apart from a badge, there's also an instruction leaflet with information on the fictional aircraft and additional decals included.
That spaceship is 'Hooded Swan' from the Brian Stableford novels, one of my all time favourite spaceships, painting was by Angus McKie.
ReplyDeleteI passed on both the Battlehawk and Hawkwing toys when they came out as they were expensive at the time. Regret it really as they are quite rare now, in particular the Battlehawk, and don't come up on Ebay much. Still got the Treehawk and Terrahawk.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame Terrahawks never got a reshowing on BBC2 several years ago like the other Anderson shows, so I don't suppose we'll get any more toys of them in the future, so hold on to it.
I have the complete Battlehawk boxset.
