I love this mish mash of a space set I picked up late last year. There's a bit of everything: Thunderbird 5, Apollo Moon Exploring, Major Matt and Spacex/Golden Astronaut! A smorgasbord of knockoff niblets. Even the name 'Space Set: Interspace Vehicles' is a subtle (not!) play on 'SpaceX: Interspace Miniatures'!
No branding on the backing card or on the bases of the little spacemen alas. I love the little rocket transfer on the console and the Moon Crawler screen. Anyone ever see this set or similar before?
I remember these! I had them as decorations on a birthday cake. Well, minus the TB5. The only other difference is that the set I had included a blue Mercury capsule with a hatch you could open. Oh, days of youth where did you go?
ReplyDeleteHee hee - I'd have loved a cake decorated like that! I did a bit on them in Summer last year about the cake decoration company Culpitts http://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/2009/05/apollo-moon-exploring-and-culpitts-cake.html
ReplyDeleteWoodsy my friend you find the best stuff!
ReplyDeleteRP is so right - you do find the best stuff, Woodsy! How do you do it?
ReplyDeleteAnd oh boy, how I would have loved to have a cake decorated that way too!
