Word Making and Word Taking is a game I know, from a rather obscure source. It appears in The House that Dripped Blood anthology, the segment about the young witch played by that Sixties go-to Horror child actor, Chloe Franks.

The latest FAB BOOK OF... from Fanderson has been released and is already winging it's way to members.
This one features photos and info on the free gifts and promotions that were given away in Anderson related comics during the sixties and early seventies.
The edition even comes with it's own free gift, a facsimile of the free Spectrum File booklet that came with TV21 issue 155.
While sorting out a few old comics I came across this old Radio Times from 1980, which I actually kept from the time .
Although I have only a passing interest in modern horror films , I do like some of the old fifties and sixties classics, including The Night of The Demon. So, as it had a great cover painted by Mark Thomas of a faux film poster, I thought I'd hang on to it.

Some photos of my Dinky Jenson FF die-cast toy, which would have appeared between 1970 -74.
It's quite a detailed toy, with jewelled headlights, numberplates, opening driver & passenger doors, an opening bonnet, and a fairly detailed interior with folding seats. The front wheels turn slightly too.
As a point of interest the FF was also available as part of the short lived Dinky Action Kit build-it - yourself sets. A novel idea, and I can just imagine the mess that was created by putting the toy together and giving it a thick coat of dark blue Humbrol enamel. I reckon buying the ready-made example was always going to be the better option!
I've always been a fan of chocolate and sweets ever since I was a kid. It's a habit I haven't lost and now in my Sixties I still get excited by anything new.
Having tried most of the discounter me-too chocolate bars like Titan, which I love, I went in search of something more exotic.
I found it at the Spar garage shop.
Baby Ruth.
At first I thought I'd read it wrong. I expected Babe Ruth, as in the famous baseball player, but no, it was Baby Ruth. I assume they're related.
The chocolate bar itself was utterly delicious. A sandwich of nougat, caramel and nuts if I remember rightly. It was two weeks ago.
I shall be returning to the Spar's US shelf for another Baby Ruth and maybe a Butterfinger.
Anyone else like these bars?

Obviously, Corgi had to make the pointed noses safe for kids.
Sadly my missiles, Buck and Twiki figures are long gone from the larger version, but at least I've retained the backing card for the smaller one.
I love old National Park souvenirs like this plastic plaque in a Selby charity shop here in the UK.
They could be from anywhere with big wildernesses and landscapes. This is from Banff in Canada. No doubt a British family visited it in the Fifties or Sixties, when natural tourism was just beginning.
It hints at long drives in a car or on a bus. I always think of a family Woody station wagon heading into the hills, parents eager to find the next monument and the kids eager for a burger!
There's something endearing about souvenir designs especially for National Monuments and Parks. Are there any rocket or space-related Monuments and souvenirs?
Souvenirs are fascinating windows into the past. Not toys but somewhere nearby.
I wonder if anyone collects souvenirs like this?
Some photos of the New Spaceways Comic Annual, the companion book to the Adventure Annual.
Both covers were illustrated by Denis McLoughlin, and were published in 1954.
As a bonus, I've included the space themed cover of the 1957 Knockout Annual, which shows the characters from the Space Family Rollinson strip.
