THE DR.WHO ANTI-DALEK SONIC DISINTE-GRATOR: ITS A LOT OF HOT AIR!

I've started my next Do-It-Yourself Dalek toy gun, Lincoln International's 1965 Dr. Who Anti-Dalek Sonic Disintegrator.

My reference point for this scarce toy is this image on Christopher Hill's fabulous Space Museum gallery. There are a few more on the net too such as Worthpoint.

Setting off, this great looking vintage hot air stripper was a steal on Ebay and I hoped would give my project a real first blast.

I kicked off by taking it apart, which was great fun!

I then started building up the various parts of the barrel. Still a way to go!

I'm still not sure how this is all going to turn out: it could really be a lot of hot air!

Early days yet so I'll not be worrying Skaro's Finest any time soon.

I need a banana.

GAME ON

Recently spotted in a charity shop on the top shelf, these two boxed board games were ten pounds each. Way too dear for me.

I do like seeing old board games like this. I used to pick them up for a pence at boot sales in the 90's. Great fun.

Dads Army was based on the popular TV show and released by Strawberry Fayre way back in 1974, making it 50 years old.

Payday was released by Palitoy in the 1970's too, the 'funny money game for all the family'. Its not a game I know at all.

I've made another wall hanger, an A4 sized replica of Zen, the Liberator's computer from the first 3 seasons of Blake's 7.

Currently working on the full size 4th season computer!

LOOEY'S PROPS: GREYSTANES SUPER DRENCHERS!

Enough of the monster stuff! I know you Moonbasers are really only here to see the water pistols I made for Greystanes, the Tik Tok Horror series!

The story is set in the 1990's and our young heroine arms herself with a brace of water pistols containing the only substance that can overpower Il Hadiela's Maltese folkloric evil!

Ryan found some contemporary water blasters that looked a bit like period props

and I modified them to (break copyright) and painted them in retro colours.

For good measure, I took the boxes they came in and covered them in $3 wrapping paper ( did I mention this was a low budget production?) then designed and printed out some period style graphics using my colour laser printer!

To my delight, the boxes feature quite prominently in the establishing shot. so all that Art Department storytelling was put to good use!

I had a great time working on the series, mostly because I got to design and build the Boss Monster!

LONDON:1999- ORIGINAL UFO PROPS

Although the recent London Space:1999 convention had displays of props from the series, there was also a few original props from UFO in the mix, thanks again to James Winch and Andrew Frampton.

The large Sky 1 model made an appearance.

SID 2 as seen in the episode, The Man Who Came Back.

This is apparently what remains of a SID model used for long shots.

DIY Lone Star Dalek Rocket Gun Carded

Continuing my DIY Dr. Who toy guns project, here's my home-made Lone Star Dalek pistol on its nifty new custom backing card.

Bill's fabulous custom card has really improved the look of the gun and I reckon you'll agree that together they don't look half bad at all now.

Thinking that the original may have been bagged here's the home job in one too.

The toy arsenal will continue soon.
