An afternoon's shopping break near Moonbase took us to Home Bargains.
I was impressed with the Gigantosauros .... and the giant price!
These three bad boys growled 'Get your wallet out Woodsy!'
Up the road in an antiques centre I saw boxed Subbuteo. Its not a game I had but I know mates who loved it. Did you readers? My Wife's favourite Solitaire had an appearance too.
Boats and trucks aplenty in this corner.
I had a lightbulb moment when I saw this lamp, one that we had at home when I was a kid. Did you?
Old cameras and cine cameras.
Die-casts. I was sorely tempted by the lime green Speed King at the right. Not sure of the name but it looks familiar. I may have had it as a kid.
In another collectables shop I made a great find in this cabinet, but more of that later. Here's the cabinet after I took my find out. There's a Diddyman statue, a Tonka truck and lots more.
Upstairs was this lovely boxed Scalex boat, one I had or very similar in the Sixties.
Godzilla's sick of Venom's antics and I was once again gobsmacked by how massive modern Paw Patrol vehicles are.
Casdon till, Fisher price phone and more.
Fisher Price record player and lots of old board games.
The orange game that looks like an LP record bottom right above is Waddington's Astro Blitz from 1968. An incredibly thin box, its one of a number of similarly packaged games, all new to me. You? [picture courtesy of BoardGameGeek]
Boxed 2020 reissues of Master of the Universe.
Beautiful old miniature hand transistors. I had one just like this. Did you?
A stack of cassette tape players and a dog radio that I know I had back in the day. Did you have a cassette player readers? What did you record?
Oh what fun we had!
See anything you recognise readers?
