JAMES T. OBELIX

A quick flit round a local car boot with the Granddaughter garnered a few things for Grandad and lots of stuff for her. Grandma just supplied the dosh!

See what you think.

In short I picked up two Asterix rubber painted figures from 1984. Here's Obelix. The other is a harpist, the name of whom eludes me.

... a modern articulated Captain Kirk figure, brand unknown

... and an unusual miniature Action Man figure I'd never seen before, which I've found out is from a range called A.T.O.M Night Ops.

I also invested in a very large plastic Harrier Jump Jet, which I thought would fit Action Man, but getting it home I realised its too small. Marked HM Armed Forces, its for smaller 8" figures from that range. Still I shall enjoy cleaning it and replacing a few parts.

RICHARD'S SEASTAR 5 COMIC BOOK LAUNCH SEQUENCE 2

Here's the second set of images for the LAUNCH OF SEASTAR 5 .... Hope you like them.

Inside Hanger One at Star Key Base...the mighty SEASTAR 5 on its Goliath Launch Transporter System....begins to move forward towards Airlock One.....Launch Station alert sounds.....all water tight doors and windows in the Hanger One close...safety systems go to launch alert ....SEASTAR 5 enters the Airlock.....the doors will close to the airlock as water jets are switched on to fill the Airllock....once pressure with the outside Ocean is equalised the Ocean Door will open....

Mountain of Doom Short Thunderbird 2 Movie

Having been a proper film bodger about 15 years ago using toys as props in the garden I love simple home made movies that flow well and capture the moment.

Bill EV's Taito Thunderbird 3

Here's one that my friend Wayne Stock did. The model is a Taito TB3, I did the photography, placing it in front of a black velvet backdrop. [a-la-space-1999-eagles]

There were several shots taken and then then it was over to Wayne to do the really clever stuff. He's a very talented fine artist and photographer, and even had exhibitions when we were still in school together. In fact, I've known Wayne since I was about 4 years old, so we predate Thunderbirds!

The TB3 normally sits in a display cabinet on a shelf with the rest of my roughly 1/300th scale collection of models which include; a Concorde, Zero-X, Titan 3 MOL, Avro Vulcan and a load of other Gerry Anderson TV Vehicles.

But it was good to see the old firework in her natural environment!
