Regarding the movie The Fearless Vampire Killers, not sure if I have seen this one or not, but I did find this totally bonkers animated clip on You Tube. 

In it, Leo the MGM Lion grows a set of Vampire teeth.

Horror movies on TV were rare in NZ when I was growing up, so I did not get to see many. Certainly none of the old Universal classics, so I was 'grown up' before I discovered the fun of such films.

Since childhood I've always liked classic horror monsters. So, in the spirit of Halloween, here are a few pics of my 1/6 scale, Monster Files (number 2), 'The Were Wolf', produced by Coomodel.

Whilst this modern action figure is designed as an adult collectible, it successfully connects to the enjoyment of the toy Mego monsters and Aura model kits I played with and enjoyed as a kid.

The large boxed set, illustrated with vivid graphics, includes interchangeable heads, limbs and accessories. This gives options for displaying the figure as human, partially transformed, or in full raging lycanthrope form. The set also comes with an atmospheric diorama display stand, a brooding card backdrop and comic storybook.

If I'm critical, I'm not a fan of the enigmatic anime inspired human head sculpt. I may have felt different if I'd been able to translate the comic book and learn the backstory of the character. That aside, I'm totally in awe of this savage Were Wolf's aesthetic. From its contemporary styling, to it aggressive presence, it's a beast which strikes terror on to the plastic hearts of my older action figures. Even the veteran battle hardened boyz from Palitoy are breaking out the silver bullets in fearful anticipation of the next killing moon.

Others in the stylised 1/6 scale 'Monster Files' line-up include; Frankenstein (monster), The witch, The Mummy and The Vampire.

LEWIS AND THE SKELETAG

Hey there! As I embark on my new career making toys that please me, I've managed to get SOME spooky stuff out there, even if it's only prototypes!

I love clear plastic things, I love glow in the dark stuff and I love anatomy. What better way of amusing my inner child than combining all three!

This is Skeletag, a combination of traditional and digital sculpting, 3D scanning and printing...

He has his trusty spray can and he's ready to leave a mark before he's too Late!

If he had a theme song, it would be "Don't tag on the train tracks, Darling..."

I'm still waiting on a shipment of matching enamelled pins, but I managed to get these toy prototypes into the Melbourne toy store of the local art toy collective I now hang out with online.

I can finally call Skeletag a "toy" as he has magnetic balls that allow his head and hands to pose. I think he looks great in normal light with his transparent wraith like body and when the lights go out, he really does glow in the dark!

I have several friends of his in various stages of pre production.

These will only ever be extremely limited production pieces, enough for me to have the toys I never had and a few to share with like minded individuals.
