A few years ago I posted a link to a clip on You Tube about a plasticy space rocket set. I said at the time that the video was mesmerising. I think it was the crunchy plastic sounds.

That clip was https://youtu.be/zjO2mUgOW1M made and published by a channel called ToyBroadway.

That video went on to get nearly 4 million hits [no connection to my post I might add] and some of ToyBroadway's videos have even more!

I think its the combination of our fascination with unboxing new toys, a very soothing female voice and amazingly colourful fingernails that make these films so popular.

have you trimmed up for Christmas?

Have you trimmed up the house with Christmas decorations yet?

I'm building up to the annual climb into the attic to once more release Fairy and the gang from another year's hibernation. 

Missus Moonbase reminds that growing up on the Continent she wouldn't see a decorated tree until the big night of Christmas Eve, the main European Christmas event.

Here in the UK Christmas Day is the business end and the decorations will have been up weeks for most folk.

Of course I've been reminded also that the Continent has St. Nicholas too, Father Christmas himself, on his own earlier day of either today, the 5th or tomorrow the 6th December - hope you have a happy one!

Do you celebrate St. Nick's Day and have you decorated the house for Christmas yet?

Sad to hear that Van Williams, who played the masked crime-fighter, The Green Hornet in the cult short -lived, but popular sixties TV series has died aged 82.

Our sincere condolences to his family.

Just seen this Japanese clip on You Tube of what I assume is the built-up Midori Green Slime spaceship.

Or is it a scratchbuild?

It appears to be remote controlled and looks quite big!

We know this ship better as the toy SpaceX LT-10.

toy pets for Christmas?

I've just seen an advert on children's TV for a battery powered toy dog that eats, sleeps, pets and cuddles. It may do more. I looked at our dog and said your days are numbered Blue! Ha ha

I remember when I was a kid fifty years ago we had a stiff dog attached to a push-along frame on wheels. There may have been a jumping toy dog in the house too. It was attached to a remote control and did somersaults. Our real dog Shandy was not impressed with these imposters.

I've always preferred real pets in the house so my daughter didn't bother much with the Tamagotchi or the Furby in the cupboard during the early Nineties.

I wonder if anyone is planning to buy a battery run furry pet this Xmas?
