HOTWHEELS 1:18 SCALE '66 BATMOBILE

My latest acquisition,  a large, nicely detailed  Hotwheels Batmobile based on the classic 1966 vehicle.

It has figures of the Dynamic Duo in the cockpit, opening doors, and Robin holding the Batphone.

The figures, which are fixed are pretty good likenesses . When you open the doors you can even see the Batmobile's foot pedals in front of Batman's legs.

By moving the steering wheel, the front wheels can turn left or right.

It comes with a plastic display stand.

This is one of the several variations released by Hotwheels . Mine is version labelled  DJJ39, another version without figures is version W1171. There's also another more expensive 'elite' version which has more detail and opening bonnet revealing engine, and opening trunk revealing Bat-computer.

There's probably others, but this one does me just fine. 

CHARACON SPACE TANK

I keep seeing this space tank around.

This one is a Japanese toy.

By Bandai, the auction site it was on listed it as "Space detective shalban shillinger tank CARICOM RC"

The same tank comes as a basic space toy as well, which I've seen several times on Ebay, but for the life of me I can't find one now!

The basic shape reminds me of the front cab of the Project SWORD Buclear Ferry, especially this illustrated version by Mike Noble in Star Fleet.

HOLY HOTWHEELS!

I picked up a 1:18 scale  '66 Batmobile  this week and before I do a proper post on it I just wanted to give a sneak preview of the Batman and Robin figures.

MYSTERY FUTURISTIC BOAT

This was in my photo archive from last year. I have no idea what it is as I didn't label it. 

Presumably it reminded me of the Stingray Submarine Aircraft Carrier.

Those blister cockpits and split windscreens are totally Dan Dare too!

KEVIN'S STAR COPS BADGES

It's becoming clear that our Kevin D is probably the world's biggest Star Cops fan, and has many items in his corner to reinforce this idea.

Here is Kev's latest addition to his Star Cops collection - an ESL-1 patch .This is a badge that would've been sewn onto the uniform of a crewmember working on the European Spacestation in the series (the 'Charles De Gaulle').Although it is certainly made for the series production though  Kevin couldn't swear it was actually used on the show.

 However, the other patches he owns  would have been used as they are sewn onto original costumes he already has in his collection.

To finish here's Kevin's original Star Cops prop gun, the pride of his collection.
