UFO GUMBALL SPACE TOYS CUSTOM STYLING

I do love these old UFO vending machine/ gumball space miniatures I see all the time online.

The old vending card looks pretty neat too.

Or maybe this version.

I like them so much I got to thinking what if they were carded like SpaceX/ Project SWORD toys. What do you think readers? Your efforts welcomed.

TV21: WINGING IT

Browsing TV21's I came across this illustration of a rear winged plane. First impression was that it reminded me of Thunderbird 2 , also the SpaceX Nuclear Freighter 2 [below, centre], and the SpaceX Salvage Craft [below, colour] because of the bulbous protrusion at the front, 

Some miniature toys I've seen from Japan also recall the winged design in Tv21.

and the yellow ship in the middle of this lot from the beautiful UFO vending machine series.

Bill's idea: It does indeed Kevin. A scheduled transport via nuclear freighter is forced to land at a small provincial spaceport and Maximum Security Detail is dispatched from Spectrum to retrieve the cargo.

LONELY MECHA

Got the afternoon off so I'm basking in chillsville. Just  browsing my old pics archive and here's a few miscellaneous snaps of Japanese mecha I've found online ages ago.

When I saw this I thought it was the original sketch for Thunberbird 7/ Project SWORD Beetle by Shigeru Komatsuzaki, but I doubt it after reading the blurb. I think its fan art. Have a gander in English here.

Not sure I've seen this version of the Midori Super Beetle before. the design was picked up by Century 21 for there super rare Lunar Climber toy, which at least one lucky reader has that I know about. I love the red-helmeted astronauts, which I feel give this box art a very SWORDesque look. COUNTING DOWN TO ANDERCON

With less than a month to go before Andercon I'm beginning to look forward to what's in store.

One guest I'm looking forward to seeing is Anderson veteran, Jeremy Wilkin, who replaced David Holliday, voicing Virgil Tracy for the second season of Thunderbirds, and the feature films Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird Six,  He also voiced Captain Ochre, and Captain Black prior to the character's  Mysteron conversion in Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons. His voice talents are also heard in Joe 90 and The Secret Service.

He appeared in the Anderson live action feature film, Doppelgänger aka Journey to the Far Side of the Sun, and the Anderson TV crime drama, The Protectors.

Jeremy also appeared in Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's UFO TV series.

He was seen in the opening titles of UFO as Lt. Gordon Maxwell aboard Skydiver. Seen here with Gary Myers in the background who played Captain Lew Waterman.

He will be joined on stage at Andercon 2015 with returning guest Georgina Moon, who played Skydiver operative Lt. Sylvia Howell in UFO.

Like Jeremy, Georgina also appeared during the title sequence, seen here with Skydiver Engineer Masters played by Jon Kelley.

CLASSIC TOYS OF THE 1960'S AND 1970'S

Just found out that there is a section on Project SWORD in the above book for collectors from 2008, Classic Toys of the 1960's and 1970's by Arthur Ward [Crowood Collectors Series]. Maybe Project SWORD was beginning to be recognised back then.

HOVER SPACE TOY FONT ANYONE?

I recently saw this set of golden angels on the Bay and immediately thought that the lettering was similar to that used by Hover for their miniature space toys. See below for the Space Glider. Anyone know what these fonts are called?
