This is a a great looking Atom Sub 7-11; it has a real Gerry Anderson vibe to it.
I think its Italian. It's titled a Sottomarino A Molla. This is the only image I could find, this one on an odd auction site called Catawiki [I thought Catawiki was an encyclopedia site].
Do you like this Atom Sub? Any more info?
Try putting that photo into Google Lens! Only the one exact hit on Catawiki, but everything else....
ReplyDeleteAs Howard Carter said "Wonderful things!"
It is a rare thing Looey!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a small wind up version of a toy sub I had as a child. The movable dive planes were connected to the periscope. When in the water the sub would dive until the periscope was below the water at wich time it would swivel to the rear of the conning tower.
ReplyDeleteThis would move the dive plains into a position that would cause the sub to surface. Once on the surface the process would repeat causing the toy to dive and surface again and again.
Mine was a larger more realistic design and powered by batteries.
