It's time to dress up nice...
The Missus and I are off to the restored Ironfest now being held at Portland NSW. Aparrently It's smaller now, wirh no WW2 vintage armoured vehicles, jousting or Sydney Robot Makers this year!
Still, Portland is a lovely village, so we'll make the trip to see what's on offer.
First up is polishing my shoes. I used to have liquid polish for my school shoes, but I don't remember the brand.
Did you use this stuff, way back when Moonbasers?
Liquid shoe polish? Can't be having this modern stuff. When I were a lad, Sunday evenings (pre-bathtime) involved polishing shoes ready for school. The best bit was sucking in those tasty polish fumes. We used either Cherry Blossom or Kiwi polish.
ReplyDeletePolish was mostly in round tins when I was a kid. All the shoe stuff was in a large plastic carrier with a shoe sole on the top of the handle where you could put your shoe to polish it. I can small the whole thing now, sweet waxy niffs, soft cloths, hard brushes. The polish was hard yet soft in those tins, like black butter. You did a grand job on your boots Looey with that Kiwi magic!
