Woodsy and Fellow Moonbasers,
Here's a few shots of new age and golden age dinosaurs.
Right now, there's so many new dinosaur toys on the market it blows the mind. I am partial to the old stuff but there's no denying the new stuff is terrific!
The B&W photo was taken by me at Disneyland way back in 1980.

What a fab flock of dinos Ed. The clear photos are just ace! Love the old snap from Disneyland, one place I've never been. What was it like Ed?
ReplyDeleteWoodsy, I absolutely loved Disneyland! I was stationed at my first air base not far from Pasadena and I had the chance to go a couple of times. I also went to Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios (when the original Battlestar Galactica was the featured theme, along with Land of The Giants), Calico Ghost Town a couple of times (one time we went to the Marine base at Palmdale and rented horses and road into Calico on horseback), saw the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. Soooo much to see and do in SoCal!
DeleteThe sixth photo is the Marx playset that inspired my lifelong interest in dinosaurs at age 5.I respect the newer, more sensible dino images, but still love those tail dragging, reptilian monstrosities of yesteryear.
ReplyDeleteHave you still got anything from your Marx set Brian?
DeleteYes,a few pieces. They were molded in a very specific greenish gray.I don't have the original cave and stone arch, but I have a replica by Timee, molded in bright translucent orange!
DeletePictures please!
DeleteWill do!
DeleteAnd there after the Stegosaur is the glorious smilodon. Was there ever a more fierce looking mammal!?
ReplyDeleteAn amazing collection of dinosaurs, vintage and old! Thanks for sharing! I loved my Pyro model dinosaurs, wish I had saved ‘em. SFZ
ReplyDeleteThank you and you're welcome! I've still got a gaggle of vintage dino's I never took photos of!
