BHS took over an existing toyline back in the late 80's, that had already been doing the rounds in seaside and discount stores for some time. They rebranded the vehicles, added figures, a base and additional accessories, as well as books and other merchandise. You will probably find some BHS E12 toys with different trademarks on the base, or boxed items which resemble the E12 brand, as some of this was further picked up and remarketed, after the E12 range went off the shelves, due to lack of interest.
