I like cut-away models, and I have just come across this series of short You Tube videos showing various cut-away model airliners, mainly with clear fuselage sides. Some include passengers, others have interior lighting.
Professionally made, in fairly large scales. The most spectacular is a 1/26th scale DC-7C - wow ! The level of detail is amazing.
Some lack wings, and only show the fuselage. The sort of thing you once saw in the windows of travel agents. Mostly prop-liners, but some jets.
In three Parts, plus a few others:
An amazing, large scale Stratocruiser, and a book on collecting these display models.
I am still stunned by these models.

The craftsmanship involved in these beautiful models really boggles the mind. Artisans all.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at these links yet, but I have very strong memories of a 1/24 scale Jumbo jet nose section model I saw in a travel agency in London in the early 70's. It had a clear plastic side. You could see the flight deck, first class passengers and suitcases in the cargo hold! I recall the livery as Pan Am, do any other Moonbasers have similar memories?
