Following on from my last post about the corgi rocket sky Park, here are three more battery operated garages.
The first one always reminds me of the vertical parking garage in Thunderbirds. It’s the closest I found to it.
The Matchbox auto park I’ve always liked because of the box art. The last one is again a vertical park, just a cheaper version.
Hope you like them .

A great collection of toy garages. Alas, I did not have anything like these. Just a small plastic petrol station, with a set of pumps at the front.
ReplyDeleteI recall seeing the Autopark in the 74 catalogue, before it disappeared again the year after. I never found it on the shelves though and looing on ebay recently, they are pretty rare. Its a great idea, but I find the big coloured cogs in the front make it look like one of the earluy learning clock toys for little ones! The first one is a cracker though! Bill
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved that Matchbox period artwork on the boxes and adverts, between that and the classic Hot Wheels artwork, it defined a genre. Bill
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated how this car park works! Perhaps Will O could send me a message?
ReplyDeleteHi Bill. As far as I can see , it works like this.... the elevator car is attached to a vertical and to a horizontal metal pole. These move up and down and left and right, driven , I presume , by screw threads concealed in the surround housing. The poles are activated by the switches on the base. If the two poles are operated together, the elevator will move diagonally. When the elevator is aligned to the desired parking space levers on the back of the elevator will either empty the car into the space or retrieve it from the parking space. Hope this is of help.
