Hi everyone , thanks for your comments...The "Jif Set"...this is the actual set used in the Advertising Commercial for Jif Fruits...the advert went out originally with the first Star Wars Movie in the seventies at the cinema ....it may have also done some TV appearances although I don't remember seeing them ....I was not involved with this - these images were taken at the Gerry Anderson Exhibition staged in Blackpool in the Seventies...the puppets also turned up in a TV Pilot called the "Investigator" that Gerry Anderson put together...the series didn't get the go ahead...only the original pilot is available on video DVD - its pretty rare though today...my work at the time in the seventies - was just starting out in photography - a freelance - and I was lucky at the time to live in Blackpool...managed to do not only this exhibition....but also the second version which was staged at the "Pleasure Beach Fun park " as well....I also have pictures of the DR Who Exhibition which also was in Blackpool around the seventies as well...have to dig those out sometime....In the seventies and eighties Gerry Anderson was involved with a number of ideas for series....some had pilot productions made , others were marketing examples for toy products , notably "Starcruiser" that came out as a Airfix Model Kit.....Glad you all like the images....Richard Dixon TPD STUDIOS Lancashire .
Nice model work!
ReplyDeleteI don't recognize the "Galactic Rescue" set.
Where did that come from, or is it an original creation? :)
Thanks for sharing!
