As an add on to my previous Fairylite Stingray post, here's a few old photos of my Lincoln International Stingray.
Here's the competition page from TV Century 21 to win your own emote control Stingray..
And finally, even though it's against my better judgement, here's an old advert for the toy from YouTube.
I like that toy. I think I may have had a secondhand one (minus its remote), as a small child. It's a bit of a vague memory.
ReplyDeleteI'm fond of it myself, Kev. I didn't have one as a youngster, but for a toy of the time it certainly looks pretty accurate. Lakeside toys did a friction drive version, with a swirly coloured ratemaster.
DeleteDid you mean "not bad for two Quid"?
ReplyDeleteWell, it's got two shillings in old money written on the top of the box, which was on there when I bought it, so at some point in the toy's history it was sold for two bob aka two shillings, Lewis.
DeleteYou wouldn't even get the box alone for that now.
ReplyDeleteEven a replica box would set you back more than a few bob!
DeleteAnother beautiful Lincoln International treasure! I consider myself damn lucky that I snagged a couple of the soft-plastic Lincoln International Thunderbirds model kits here in the U.S. back in the late 60s - I think they must have been rare as hen's teeth, even then.
ReplyDeleteThe Lincoln International Thunderbirds set was pretty good in the day, Zigg, and reasonably accurate. I've still got the remnants of my original Thunderbird 3, which is missing its electric motor and wheels.
