I'm amazed at the quality of photo and video feeds coming from the Orion capsule as it journeys around the moon. The navigation camera is taking some amazing shots of the lunar farside in black and white and the solar panel mounted cameras show an amazing live view as the capsule continues its journey.

Its a far cry from the grainy, distorted shots of the sixties!
Yes, it's great stuff. According to a Radio 4 programme, a copy of the Aardman character "Shaun the Sheep" is on board. No pictures of him, I suppose?!!
ReplyDeleteShaun is in good company with Snoopy, Callisto and some Lego Minifigs! https://blogs.esa.int/orion/

I believe Shaun the Sheep is in the service module, keeping everything going, like Scotty.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a far cry from the earlier Apollo moon missions, when there were times that my brother and I were hard-pressed to figure out what we ere actually seeing on the television broadcasts!
