We're enjoying our city break in Koln. We're not here long so old toys are on the back burner.
I find these electric scooters great. They're everywhere for anyone to use as long as you have the app. We haven't but no worries. We enjoy walking everywhere except for the longer journeys by street tram - S Bahn - and underground - U Bahn.
Do you have scooters like this?
This toy size piano and stool in a juwelers made me chuckle. I had visions of GI Joe performing the Action Man concerto on it!
These old cars caught my eye in a junk shop. Very pricey. I don't recognise any of them. You?
There's a lovely habit here in Koln of leaving cardboard boxes of old unwanted stuff out on the street for all to rummage through and take. No Project SWORD yet but did pick up a funny comic book of Hagar the Horrible strips!
Do people leave unwanted stuff out near you? It was a thing we did in the pandemic in the UK. Think it's gone now.
Chester is one of the places trialling them. I'm too grumpy for them, they are often used illegally, they are silent and dangerous and I'm of the age that means I think anyone over the age of 5 who is using a scooter must have something wrong with them!
ReplyDeleteThey're everywhere here Kev. Nationwide. Bikes. Scooters. Trams. Trikes. It's a nightmare for a confused Brit crossing the road!
DeleteAuckland has these electric scooters, all over the footpath. They are a menace, as most riders have no regard for those of us on foot.
ReplyDeleteThe toy cars all look to be fairly modern, except perhaps the Ferrari racing car ?
The last trams ran in Auckland in 1956. Now just a couple of short tourist lines at the Museum of Transport and Technology, and down by the waterfront.
I think big cities who lost their trams wish they hadn't now Paul. Cologne's trams are everywhere.
