I remember calling my bouncy rubber ball a "thunderball", whether that was the brand name, I can't remember. They were a rage in 1965-1967. Super bouncy when dropped five floors, they almost came back! Brilliant fun, but care had to be taken as I found out when, in a corridor, I threw it really hard and it hit me in the eye - OUCH!

ReplyDeleteYes! I remember really bouncy balls Norman. I agree, they went for miles when bounced really hard. Were they made of something called Zircon?
DeleteZectron apparently. Another good reason to donate to Wikipedia!
DeleteThanks Norman! Zectron eh! What a great name for bouncy stuff!
DeleteLooks remarkably like the box art for the Gilbert JB doll
