Strangely, I remember an episode where the Emperor Dalek falls through a time warp and comes off the worst from a joust with a Knight in armour!

The episode had (I think) a cut away of his interior to illustrate the epilogue where he is being repaired with a warning he will be even more dangerous when complete!
As this adventure wasn't in this collection, I assume the story must have been in TV Comic or maybe Look and Learn?
One of the featured spacecraft [the Guardian] looked very familiar, and sure enough, a bit of Googling brought up the fact someone else had already made the SpaceX connection! I guess I'm the last kid on the block to notice this!
Did any of you read the Daleks strip as a kid? have you go this reprint collection?
Cheers,

The strip you speak of was in The Dalek Outer Space Book and is on my blog (Crivens) under the title of 'Sssshhh! The Emperor Has A Secret...' The first Dalek book introduced the Emperor even before he'd appeared in TV21. I bought about a dozen of the new reprint bookazine, and I've also got 3 copies of the 1994 version.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW! WHAT A GREAT BLOG!
DeleteI'm a ten year old kid again!
You've made my day, many thanks!
Much to the amusement of those who know me, LM, I've never passed the point of being a 10 year old kid. Wouldn't change it though. Glad you enjoyed the blog.
DeleteI was aware of the strip when it occurred but didn't read it. If you read Kid's blog : http://kidr77.blogspot.com you would have heard about this reprint.
ReplyDeleteIt hadn't shown up in the US but through Kid's thoughtfulness he offered me a copy which I recently finished reading.
I found these stories very amusing given how far from the TV version of the Daleks they were. It's the three artists working on the stories that for me made this collection interesting.
The artwork for the reprint used original art where possible and the standard or reproduction is far superior to the original comics.
Worth having if you enjoy Daleks!
This is a great collection of engaging comic art that has helped me through some, at least, of the lockdown.
ReplyDeleteHighly recommended !
