The World Encyclopedia of Model Soldiers, by John G. Garratt, 1981, gives the following information on Poplar, hope this is the same company. Poplar Playthings Ltd, Bridgend, Wales (1958-65). Manufacturers of large-size Romans with chariots, spacemen and Westerners for the juvenile trade. Paul Adams from New Zealand
