Can't quite fathom that I'm 60 years old!
In my head a big part of me is still 14, wondering where my tank tops and monkey boots are, waiting for my mates to come round so we can go up town to the Top Rank disco on Saturday morning!
Part of me is still wanting to do so much. Write books, see the world, glimpse the infinite, find the answers to the questions I always had.
Part of me is tired of the whole damn thing.
Its strange being 60!
Have you reached this milestone?
Reached it? Past it! (In more ways than one.)
ReplyDeleteOh, you've just turned 60? I thought you were lamenting being 60 for a while now. So Happy Birthday - but I want a slice of your cake!
DeleteNo cake left Kid - it was batman - but there's lots of liquorice and chocolates!
DeleteThanks Kid.
Delete60 only? *kids* hahahahaha has the arthritis kicked-in yet? If not, you're still doin' okay. But never let go of your dreams!
ReplyDeleteMy dreams are locked in a safe guarded by Zeroids Ed.
DeleteLOL
DeleteLong past it and I don't remember it!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you learn to share your toys with Moonbase Jr and his sister you will not notice the passage of time too much. Except the getting up from being on your knees will take a little longer.
Many Happy (and Healthy) Returns.
Thanks Terran! I will try to share!
DeleteHelsinki Base salutes Supremo Woodsy! Many Happy Returns!
ReplyDeleteThanks Arto. I have glided through a fun day of prezzies, cards, a Dentist, a deluge, charity shops, vintage plastic santas, wombles, Hammer films, gyros, Captain Morgan, Black Magic and a curry!
DeleteHappy birthday young chap!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev. I may need some Milliput to fill in a few cracks!
DeleteI reached it in late October, so you and I are the same age Woodsy and would have been in the same year at school.
ReplyDeleteI say I don't feel like a kid any more, but have spent the last few days reading 'The Daleks', a new collection of the 1960s TV 21 Comic strips, and have loved it !
However, I am definitely tired, I suspect like you, of the way things are around us now. Not just the virus situation, but the way this country hasn't moved forward since our optimistic 60s childhoods and is stuck in a past that pre-dates even us !
Mish.
Nice one Mish. We are Sixty. I am trying not to be too Harry Worth or Hancock-like in an increasingly baffling world but I am pleased that my monthly prescription for Hypertension will be free from now on!
DeleteOh yes, Happy Birthday Woodsy, by the way !
ReplyDeleteMish.
Thanks Mish! Just drinking some rum. Hic!
DeleteYou took my advice then ?
ReplyDeleteMish.
What was that then?
ReplyDeleteThe Drinking Chocolate with Rum recipe that I posted a few weeks ago. Remember ?
ReplyDeleteMish.
Ah! Yes!
