HI Woodsy.I have taken my annual visit to Wildwood NJ.The boardwalk ,which is usually not crowded in early August, was even less crowded, probably because of Covid concerns.
The amusement piers are open, with cleaning crews keeping things clean and safe. While I did walk out on the piers,I wasn't so much interested in the rides. My goal was some early Christmas shopping.
The little shops along the boardwalk are famous for unusual items and most are having end of season sales.I also wanted to indulge in a slice of boardwalk pizza.
My choice was an unusual one.Pizza with grilled chicken, barbecue sauce and white cheddar cheese.Surprisingly good!
I took some pics of the gaudy glitz that best defines the Wildwoods

Looks fabulous Brian. Neon and pizza! A winning combo. Reminds me of Blackpool Pleasure Beach when I was a kid and Blackpool illuminations. Visiting there was a real big deal in the Sixties and I was always so excited. Candy floss, toffee apples and the Big Dipper! Yay! Wildwood has a sort of Lost Boys fairground look to it, probably cos you've shot these atmospheric pics at night. Watch the skies!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the spooky title sequence, set in an empty night time fairground, from the 1960s sci fi / horror series Journey to the Unknown, with it's haunting, whistled theme tune.
ReplyDeleteMish.
I will check that out on You Tube Mish!
DeleteDo.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really striking opening sequence.

Thanks for sharing Brian. What with "When the moon hits your eye like a big Pizza Pie,......." I can hear Dean Martin on the loudspeakers.
