Next we have a toy I've had for some time, but not got round to doing anything with, the Redbox Aqua Jet. Its one of those odd toys that bridges the gap between spaceships and submarines, having slick sci-fi styling, but designed for operation in water.
Although I haven't tested it yet, as there's a loose wire in the body (which is glued together). it seems to fullfill its promise of jet propulsion, by means of drawing water in via the black engine nacelles and jetting it out of the blue tailfin.
I especially like the engine, as it is very similar to Task Force 2 from the SWORD range.
The box has seen better days, but the header card does show two distinct models, MK1 and MK2. I have the MK2.
It joins a fleet of similar vehicles I have collected, called variously Hydro Jet and something incomprehensible on the original japanese packaging.
We have three types, each working in a similar way, drawing in water through front intakes and expelling it at the rear around a red lighted tailfin.
Again, due to internal wiring issues, they are untested, but they certainly look the part!
I'm luvin' these small sized toys Wotan - and a droolin' all over the keyboard hahahahaha (not really) :-)
ReplyDeleteMe too. The Redbox Aqua Jet is completely new to me and is simply brilliant. What a great collection Wote and your love of little toys shines through once again.
