Hi Woodsy,
I enclose a few pictures of models I have made over the past couple of years.
I have a liking for strange or unusual-looking machines.
They are:
1;100 scale model of a British Infantry Tank, "Matilda" by Russian firm Zvezda, with a few additions and Western desert camouflage.
Czech model of a zeppelin airship (very small scale).
1950s metal models of a British cruiser and "O" class submarine, possibly both by Crescent toys. The identifications are taken from "The Wonder Book of the Navy" of similar date!
Balsa model of an inter-war Hawker Hart plane. This started off as a flying model, but I made it just for display. It's just under 2 feet long.
The crew are made from Milliput putty, and the gunner's Lewis machine gun from bits and pieces including sections of a wood coffee stirrer and cocktail stick. I really like the streamlined shape of this craft. It hangs above our stairwell, where the gunner can "get a bead" on passers-by.
Keep up the good work,
Andy B.

Nice, I especially like the airship.
ReplyDeleteThe British cruiser looks like a County Class heavy cruiser with 8 inch guns. The three funnels - thin, thick, thin - are the main recognition point with this class. All were named after English counties. The Hart is really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe location of the Hawker Hart shows an understanding wife!
ReplyDeleteThanks- luckily my partner finds the idea of the Hart firing on passers by funny.
