Your post about your resurrected Thunderbird 2 toy made me nostalgic for the Supermarionation universe (again!), so I pulled out the few plastic model kits I still have to build, someday...
I am currently working on a huge industrial building in HO scale right now (my designated 2020 project) but as soon as that behemoth is finished, I'm going to tackle an SF model. There are several candidates, and the X Car and the Mole are top contenders... For some reason, I always associate purchasing and building a beloved SF kit with the Spring/Early Summer. Probably something to do with having Summers off as a kid for vacation, and that's when I used to buy and build these kits. But even now in my dotage, I still think Spring/Summer = Classic SF!!!
Yes the Excavator Kit has been on the top of my to-do list for a long time, along with the lovely Mole. The trouble with all of these kits is they really demand a good paint job, and that's my weakest link by far. Thus the hesitation. But I gotta bite the bullet soon, or else these will end up in the dustbin of history...
Excavator is a fave kit. MSV is unusual, dont see many of those.
ReplyDeleteThey are quite brill Rob. I winder if you'll make one this Lockdown?

ReplyDeleteI've had the MSV one since the late '80s or early '90s - still haven't built it yet.
