I'm stationed at home at the mo on care leave as Missus Moonbase has had a knee op. It's all hands on deck. Well, mine really.
Being at home is good training for what I think is coming though, namely the UK going into shut-down at some point like Italy has. Really hope it doesn't come to that though. It can't be easy for anyone there.
We have good friends in Germany who are currently having to self-isolate at home for 2 weeks after contact with their chum who tested positive for Corona. It'll be hard since they live in a small commune, where they're all used to going round visiting each other!
It all has the look and feel of a Sixties sci-fi like the the Andromeda Strain or the Satan Bug but sadly this is real and not science fiction. Social media wasn't a factor back then either but now there's that to contend with as well, a digital virus circling round the pandemic.
Anyways I'll probably blog a bit more in between caring duties this long weekend so ... till then.
In the meantime hope readers are all safe and well wherever you are.
Thank you, only a few cases in NZ - so far. Yes, turning on the news is like watching an old SF movie, only this is real, hope it can be brought under control soon. My regards to Mrs Moonbase, hope she is up and about soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. Its strange for mu Missus convalescing from a routine op during a global pandemic. She can't walk yet but we're staying in anyway at the mo and may have to for months! Good luck in NZ.
DeleteUnfortunately I'm prepping for it too. They'll give the order to 'work from home' and it'll be the same as quarantine!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you and yours Ed. Take care out there in the desert and see you on the other side.
