Hi Woodsy,
Following your request for more on robots, here are a few box lids I like. From the 60's I should think.
Always liked this sort of art, conveys the excitement of childhood for me.
Pictures of my robots to follow, when I have dusted them!

great! ew
ReplyDeleteI had that one on the right.I got it as a birthday present in the 70's.Sold it at a yard sale in 1981.I wish I hadn't.I sold an AHI Creature from the Black Lagoon at that same yard sale and I'm still kicking myself.
ReplyDeleteThe AHI Creature! What! I take it you were so young you didn't know what you were doing Bri? I need a beer!
DeleteSad but true.At the time, most of the paint was rubbed off it and and it's arm had been repaired with a pop rivet,so I decided to sell it.A "male" creature is worth a fortune in ANY condition these days.I have my eye on a "female" creature which is currently going for 600 dollars American.I hope it stays unsold for a while,an AHI would be the crown jewel for my Creature collection.
DeleteOnce my I am reeducated Bri by your toy know how. I didn't know about the female Creature but I do now! How fascinating that they made different versions! Good luck in the chase. I do however know the She Creature. One of my all time fave Fifties monster designs! I think Giger was influenced by it when he designed SIL for the Species flick. My theory anyway!
