Quite a common event back in the day - the ITV network was split into 13 regions, onlt 2 of which served Scotland so the marketing people of the time were able to target large population centres where they thought their product would do well so I guess the "them up North", with our traditional crappy weather and low temperatures weren't a potential boom sales area for ice lollies. O do however seem to recall many ads for Scot's Porridge Oats and Drinking Chocolate lol!!
Two of my fave foods... Quaker oats made thick with salt sprinkled on top and a rinf=g of milk around it on a plate. Drinking choc ... had to be cocoa when I was a kid. A delicious swirly top to it.
