When I was a kid one board game ruled the roost.
Haunted House!
It was simply the bat's ballroom!
We used to simply call it Drop it Down the Chimney and it was a huge hit with my family and my mates.
I adored it! The cardboard stairways, the plastic kicking figures. Oh my God!
It was simply board game and monster perfection!
The playing cards were the business. Wanda the Wicked, Ghoulish Gerty, Ganda the Good. Who could forget them!
I'm not alone either. Here's a tribute to the US version, Which Witch, on You Tube.
The game later morphed into Ghost Castle to haunt a new generation.
Here's the terrifying TV ad.
I'm pretty sure Haunted House influenced other creepy games like
Scream Inn
and Creature Castle
I had all these games and more about ten years ago. I collected monster games. Just a few left now.
How about you? Did you drop it down the chimney or visit Scream Inn?
My cousin's had this game, and we stored an apple core in it every time we stayed there, for us to find the zombie apple next time we stayed the following year! -Mark J Southcoast Base

DeleteWhat about HOOT! with the big plastic owl and bag of rubber monsters ? I always thought Wicked Wanda was a Ron Embleton strip in Penthouse!
