I recently picked up this action figure for my Ebay pile. I knew he was one of the CENTURIONS from the action figure decade that was the 80's. Bill B kindly informed me that his name is Max Ray.
He does look rather like Tom Selleck though!
Although I know hardly anything about Centurions, I have had a few toys come through my hands over the years. Several jigsaws if I remember rightly and some VHS.
The action figures are instantly recognisable on account of the holed pegs allover their bodies rather like these similar wire connectors!
I assume that accessories and weapons could be attached to the pegs on the figures.
Anyone collect or know CENTURIONS, the toys or the cartoon?
IIRC those pegs/holes were to attach all special armor/equipement. I know that the series existed (watched lots of 80's cartoons openings compilations on youtube) but never seen the cartoon or toys from it
ReplyDeleteThe body armour has a sort of Japanese feel to it Ran. Like a Guyver maybe.
DeleteGuver was a Bio-armor
Deletethose are a bit more like hmm... Kamen Rider?
I think you've got a point, Woodsy. I've had a few Centurions over the years and always though Max Ray was a Tome Selleck look-a-like as well. I like these figures. They seem robust and designed to last :)
