Having returned back to Moon Base with Missus MB from our weekend tour of the Morecambe Bay area of North West England I thought I'd post a piccy of those Magic Roundabout figures I found in a charity shop.
I don't know what they are but one clue might be the word DANNOT which appears on each one. if anyone can help identify them I would be most appreciative.
Similarly this group of small toys are all a mystery. Contained in the same junk box as the Magic Roundabouters I don't know what any of them are.
The only markings are MADE IN MACAU beneath the strange rubber animal to the right, which also has four small wheels.
The blue astronaut is very distinctive but has no markings at all.
The odd black block to the left says FORD on it so may not be a toy at all but rather a car thingy.
As for the cream coloured block my own guess is that its a plastic toy wafer biscuit but who knows!
Do you readers?
I believe Dannot refers to Serge Dannot who was the French creator of the series?
ReplyDeleteThanks Andy. Sounds like they're authentic then and not knockoffs.
DeleteYep, Serge Dannot is on the money Andy. Kellogs did a series of Magic Roundabout toys in Sugar Smacks, I had that weird looking bird and MrMcHenry. Bottom pic, no idea on the astronaut, but the white thing is play chocolate from a toy sweet shop and the rubber thing is possibly a Slurfie rubber monster.Grey car comes from a low loader wagon from the Kellogs R and L train series, like the ones in the earlier post with the Morinaga OX.
ReplyDeleteWow, Bill your a one man toy ID machine! Thanks for all the tips. I'll check them out but I reckon you've nailed most of 'em! I love the name Slurfie! ha ha
