We've just enjoyed a portion of fish and chips here at Moonbase delivered by Thunderbird 3.
It reminded me of being a kid in the Sixties when we had a chippy tea every week, whilst watching something fab in the telly, which I expect you did too!
With lashings of salt and vineger, fish and chips is often cited as the national dish here in the UK.
There is some competition for the title though, namely the Sunday Roast and Chicken Tikka Masala.
Personally I'm not bothered about national dishes as long as the food's tasty, but it is important to some.
What would you say your national dish is in your neck of the woods?
Not at all related to fish and chips or a moonbase but I thought you might be interested in a posting over on the io9 O-Deck and did not know where to let you know about it (if you did not already).

The post is about Zero-X, Captain Scarlet, and a bit about Project S.W.O.R.D. and Mr. Anderson's possible plans for it. Anyway. Just thought you might want to know (and obviously please deleted this note if I should not have done this). Leslie
Thanks Leslie. Very interesting article. Just read it. Nice one. Always good to see any homage to the Zero X and Project SWORD!
DeleteGoing by the groups I see hanging around underpasses, the national dish in my neck of the woods seems to be a six pack of Tennent's Lager and a bottle of Buckfast.
ReplyDeleteUmmm, tasty! I don't envy the Council workers who have to mop up in the morning Kid!
