What's the latest collectable that's found its way into your humble abode readers?
Mine's two things:
a Rosko Charlie Weaver bartender toy, which I'll do a post on at some point and a stack of vintage trashy horror paperbacks from the 1980's, which I adore! You know, Guy N. Smith and Shaun Hutson et al!
I blame my Mum and those creepy Pan Herbert Van Thal paperbacks she read in the Sixties!
So what's yours readers? Or what will it be when you get chance?
"Poison Ivy" by the Coasters on 45 rpm vintage hard vinyl. Heard it again on classic radio the other day which reminded me to get it. Currently blasting away from the old Wurlitzer. :)

ha ha, great song Paul, just had a listen too. I love all those doo-wop type American tunes. And a Wurlitzer! What? A real juke box?
DeleteHadn't I mentioned that before, Woodsy? It's a 1956 Wurlitzer Model 2000, one of the Centennial models. Found it in a youth club in a very sorry state (amp gone, glass broken) way back in the early 80s and over the years managed to get it fixed though still looking for the last 2-3 replacement parts. It needs hard vinyl mono records, because it'll rip the groove out of anything more modern given time. Which limits the choice of music somewhat, but it's a joy to watch it do its thing!

Sounds fab Paul. A great salvage job!
DeleteGot a triplet of small made in Japan U.S. Army trucks. I've been workin' on my fleet of vintage small sized military vehicles of late (Gilmark, Pyro, Lido, and whatever comes my way)
ReplyDeleteSound great Ed. Where did you come across those?
Deletefleabay - like almost everything I have. The only somewhat decent vintage toy store here is waaay overpriced. It's right on the Freemont Street Experience in Downtown Vegas and it has tourist prices. Although it does carry new Hot Wheels stock for normal retail costs.
