Two items being released in 2016 which I've got my eyes on.
The first is the highly anticipated 22" highly detailed Eagle transporter kit by MPC. This 1:48 scale styrene model is based on the main filming miniature seen in the first series of Space 1999. It comes with spring loaded landing gear , clear windows and two figures for the cockpit. There will also be additional extras available including aluminium Engine bells and thrusters.
The second item is the long awaited U.K. Blu-Ray release by Network of Gerry Anderson's live action series, UFO. Although the Carlton DVD release in 2002 were excellent prints, T.V. technology has come a long way since then, so fans are hoping for even sharper images.
Despite a few jump starts, the Eagle should be out towards the end of January. Network's UFO, which has only just been announced is penned in for sometime in 2016.
Really looking forward to the blu ray, Ufo is my favourite Anderson show. Needn't have gone to the trouble of scratchbuilding my 22" Eagle!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both for the Blu-ray Kev. Both of the Network's SPACE 1999 Blu-ray sets were excellent, with some super extras, it does bode well for the Ufo set.
DeleteI've seen photos of the finished 22" kit and it looks great. I prefer that size as its far easier to display without being imposing. It's not that expensive too, considering. I'd like to build it with the additional extras, of course, it would be a crime not to. ; )
