I loved my die-cast Corgi Popeye Paddle Wagon when I was a wee laddie in the Sixties. So it was with astonishment that I saw this huge replica plastic toy online. Its by Nacoral of Spain and looks sailor man - tastic!
Just as awesome is this equally large plastic copy of the die-cast Corgi Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. By Molto of Spain too, who also did their own versions of the JR21 Thunderbirds toys, it looks truly scrumptious!
Anyone got either of these?

They look great. I always wondered why Corgi and Dinky didn't do plastic toys. Surely it would've been cheaper? The Dinky SPV was so heavy that every time I put mine on the ground, the weight was so great that the missile flap flew up, operated as it was by pressure on one of the wheels. Lighter plastic would've solved that.
ReplyDeleteThey do look cool don't they and must have been complicated to make. Wonder why no British form had a go at them like you say. Maybe the Spanish toys were unlicensed. A plastic Yellow Submarine would be neat too!
