Some photos of the Parachute Regiment free fall team, 'The Red Devils'.
It was very windy on the beach on the Monday at the airshow so the display was limited for safety reasons, but even so the team looked pretty impressive.
The team's role is to promote the Parachute Regiment and the British Army in support of recruitment.
They carry out around 60 displays at public events each year and attract positive publicity through the media.
The team will jump day or night onto land or water as long as its safe and technically possible to do so.
Following the display, the team are happy to chat to spectators and members of the public about the team and The Parachute Regiment.
Great shots Scoop! I always have a hard time catching parachutists just as they leave the plane but have better luck as they're descending.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Ed. I obviously took shots of them jumping out of the plane but they are more or less just dots. I think the better shots are of them landing.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Scoop. The last shot is really excellent with the men, parachutes and sea. You should offer it to them! I've wondered what the difference was between the Red Devils and the Red Arrows and now I know!
