I found myself in a Hobbycraft shop today and one particular aisle was like Heaven! Shelf after shelf of Airfix models and more importantly toy soldiers.
I'd no idea that after nearly 50 years I would still be able to buy the same British Infantry and German Stormtroopers I loved setting up on the carpet as a kid.
What an amazingly durable toy line they are and it brought back floods of happy memories. The boxes are different and the box art itself may have changed but there's no mistaking those classic poses of the the little plastic men. Six pounds a box but I didn't need to buy them. Just seeing them again was enough nostalgia.
Do any of you still collect Airfix soldiers?
