Another Batmobile from the Eaglemoss collection. This time it's from issue no 19 - The Batmobile as featured in Detective Comics # 371.
This comic book version Batmobile first appeared in January 1968 and was the first to be inspired by the TV show.
The story in Detective Comics # 371 dealt largely with Barbara Gordon, alias Bat Girl and her female vanity. The crooks were a criminal gang called the Sports Spoilers who used exploding footballs to carry out robberies. They are finally captured after being distracted by a ladder in Bat Girls tights!
The Eaglemoss Batmobile is another lovely looking die cast which, for a bloke brought up on the TV series is very nostalgic.
Some nice detail in the cockpit.
The 3D Lenticular backdrop shows Gotham City Bank.
The sixties was a good time for Batman. The mickey taking camp TV series was popular. The writers and artists of the Batman comic were given a bit of a wake up call and darker stories would eventually begin to develop . But until that happened this was The Batmobile!
Very Nice! Eaglemoss is doig a fantastic job with their Bat vehicle collection.
