Yes SWORDheads, it's ages since we had a blogsclusive for you so here's one to savour! The 1969 Century 21 Books Make A Model Book 1 [or SW1] lovingly reduced to A4 at the local copy shop so yours truly could scan each page for your viewing and modelling pleasure tonight! One of a pair, these books are bigger than A4 in the flesh so bear that in mind if you print out the pages - this is a printer-friendly A4 version. These books are becoming harder to find so the beauty of this exclusive is that you can print out the whole book or just the model pages. If you make a mistake or you want a whole paper fleet just print out more! Swordtastic! Just click on the words Click Here [above] - you'll find the pages on my 'overspill' site as they take up so much space.
These two Make A Model Books basically extended the SWORD 'toy' fleet by a further four models, three of which were not available in plastic form. SW2 or Book 2, the Scramble Bug and the Sand Flea, will be posted for your Swordin' pleasure later in the year.
For background on the books visit Shaqui's and Kim's definitive GACCH SWORD books site [about half way down] and musings on the cover art visit my previous 2009 bloglet [about two thirds of the way down].
That's lovely to see, Paul, thanks!
ReplyDeleteBut erm... could it be there's a page missing for the Hover Tank turret & details?

ReplyDeleteClick on my name, and that does. ;-D
Sorry about my boo boos Paul and Shaqui. I must have been more feverish than I thought yesterday! The GACCH links works now as well and I'll look into the missing Hover Tank turrets. Well spotted Paul! Where's my Lucozade!
ReplyDeleteAll sorted! Missing Hover Tank page found in a seperate folder on my pc, the little blighter. Now re-united with its friends!
ReplyDeleteid be interested to see the finished model - ive got the second book, but never been brave enough to try and build the models! Hate card models with a passion as theyre too fiddly! Can someone make one and show us ?
ReplyDeleteshaqui - just nipped over to the sword pages on GACCH - whats the 'Saturn Probe' strip from TV21 ?
ReplyDeleteIt's not a strip, WOTAN. It was a series of "features" about travelling to and exploring Saturn. Mixture of artwork, photos from Gerry Anderson shows ... and even 2001: A Space Odyssey!
ReplyDeleteI'll post a couple so you can see.
Here ya go ...

ReplyDeleteThere's a party? (looks at Mitzi) Pffft, we never get invited anywhere. Time to gatecraaaaaasshhh!
ReplyDeleteha, ha youre always welcome here at Mars Base! Saturn Probe stuff is odd, but great to see
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Tis a bit of a mixed bag. Factual errors (even for the time), if I remember aright. A mixture of styles. Still, in some ways, not a million miles away from your ow, more creative, efforts Wote. Was supposed to do a GACCH page on it ... but I so hate writing (one of the reasons I ran away from school and became a freelance space engineer ... oh, wait, I'm confusing reality and fantasy again).
ReplyDeleteThat "ow" was supposed to be "own" of course. Sigh.
ReplyDeletePAAAAARDEEE! Over at Bill's place! I'm on my way. He does a great buffet!
ReplyDeleteHey Toadster, do you mind if I post the Saturn probe page with the MEV on it? I'll link it to GACCH. Hokay mon bufo?
ReplyDeleteBe my guest, Woodsy ^_^
