 We both enjoyed strolls from our stall today and bagged a few nice Dinge at the Flohmarkt.

Our biggest purchase, for our daughter to sell on, Lynch's Tina. Priced at €25, the Missus bagged it for just €15.

Armour Amour

My love affair with Star Wars continues, even after almost 50 years since the release of the first film, which became eponymous with the saga, before it was sub-titled 'Episode IV - A New Hope'. Since 1977, I have accrued enough merchandise to fill the blog several times over, but as it's a comparatively modern phenomenon, I have purposefully avoided posting about Star Wars.

However, as it's Star Wars day today, I thought I would show some of my latest acquisitions from the recent Deagostini magazine artwork. Each helmet is a little larger than an Action Man or Gi Joe helmet and is meticulously detailed.

The Clone Trooper variants are my favourite, showing different modifications to the basic armoured helmet, depending on mission type or battle arena, and also decorations made by the troopers to show individuality as well as force affiliations.

The series includes examples from most of the major films, up to Rogue One and also the Rebels animated series.

As it is a 'helmet' series, the majority of the models are just that, but some heads are included, including a couple of droids and the odd alien.

Given the longevity of the franchise and the huge breadth of characters, the designers have done an amazing job of keeping the costume designs distinct and interesting.

 

Glimpses of a Flohmarkt

 Another German car boot/ Flohmarkt stand under our belt today. Our best this visit, we shifted lots of my Wife's parents stuff and made £250 profit to boot! We'll use it well and go on a short holiday next week!

STARRAKER

This is the Starraker.

It looks a lot like an Eagle at the front to me.

Starraker first appeared in March 1980 in a Marvel Star Wars Weekly comic and was drawn by Carmine Infantino and Gene Day.
